We're excited to announce the release of iSymphony 3.2. iSymphony 3.2 is bringing several great new features, along with a number of bug fixes and performance improvements.

Information

There have been many changes in iSymphony 3.2 that may impact your use. Please be sure to read the release notes below and the upgrade notes before upgrading.

Support For Asterisk 12 and 13

Asterisk 12 and 13 have introduced a new version of the Asterisk Manager Interface, that is incompatible with previous versions of iSymphony. iSymphony 3.2 introduces support for the new AMI v2, which means that you will now be able to utilize iSymphony with your Asterisk 12 and 13 based phone systems.

Support For PJSIP

PJSIP is now the standard channel driver for SIP based devices in Asterisk 12 and 13. iSymphony 3.2 introduces support for the PJSIP channel driver in Asterisk.

New APIs

In our continued effort to provide integration with third party tools and applications, iSymphony 3.2 introduces two new web service APIs. Information on these new APIs can be found in the iSymphony Developer Documentation.

Live REST API

Our existing REST API has been expanded to provide realtime information about users, extensions, queues, agents, and calls in the system, in addition to the configuration resources that were provided by the REST API in 3.0 and 3.1. The new additions also provide facilities to execute actions on, users, extensions, queues, agents, and calls, just like a user would in the iSymphony Client Interface.

Event WebSocket API

A new WebSocket based API has been added, which allows third party applications to receive events, based on changes to the live state of users, extensions, queues, agents, and calls in the system.

CRM Widget Improvements

A new open option (Always) has been added to the CRM widget, which allows embedding of webpages in the iSymphony Client Interface as widgets, without the need for call activity. This will allow any webpage or web application to be embedded as part of the iSymphony Client Interface. In conjunction with the new APIs, you can now develop your own custom widgets for use in the iSymphony Client Interface. New URL variables have also been added to provide information about the current logged in user. The values these variables provide can be used to reference information in the new APIs.

In addition, we've made a few other small improvements, and fixed a lot of bugs. For a complete list of changes, see the changelog. Before upgrading, be sure to read the upgrade notes
