Symptoms

After a java upgrade or on a new install of the client you get the following error.

Java Web Start Error: Unsigned application requesting unrestricted access to system

Cause

This is caused by a corruption of the Java cache when upgrading to Java 6u33 or 7u5 from another version of Java.

Resolution

See the following Java article on how to clear the Java cache. After updating Java version to 6u33 or 7u5, my application stops working.

After clearing the cache you will have to re-install the client. See Client Installation and Uninstallation
