Call Creation Permissions

The following is a list of the call creation permissions. These permission specify which extensions in the system users can originate calls from, along with what destinations they can originate to. 

iSymphony cannot control calls placed through the phone itself.

When originating calls to or from users in the Users Widget, the Extension that will be checked for permission depends on the currently selected extension account in the User Box. If the selection is set to the user account, the user's chosen default extension will be checked. This includes originations made directly to a user's voicemail box. See Users Widget for more information on account selection management.

Call an Extension

Extensions, Users, User Groups

Controls whether a user is allowed to place a call to an extension through the interface.

Affects

  • The visibility of the Call action button. If the user does not have permission to originate to any destination, the Call action button will be hidden.
  • The visibility of the extension, in the Destination list of the Call action dialog. 
  • The ability to perform a double click call origination, to a user in the Users Widget.
  • The ability to perform a drag and drop call origination, to a user in the Users Widget.
  • The ability to perform a drag and drop call origination, to an extension in the My Stream Widget.

Call From an Extension

Extensions, Users, User Groups

Controls whether a user is allowed to place a call from an extension through the interface.

Affects

  • The visibility of the Call action button. If the user does not have permission to originate from any of their extensions, the Call action button will be hidden.
  • The visibility of the extension, in the Source Extension list of the Call action dialog.
  • The ability to perform a drag and drop call origination, from a user in the Users Widget.
  • The ability to perform a drag and drop call origination, from an extension in the My Stream Widget.
  • The ability to barge a call using the specified extension.

Call an Extension's Voicemail Box

Extensions, Users, User Groups

Controls whether a user is allowed to place a call directly to an extension's voicemail box.

Affects

  • The visibility of the voicemail button in the Users Widget. The voicemail button will be hidden if both the Call an Extensions's Vociemail Box and Transfer To an Extension's Voicemail Box permissions are denied on the extension.

Call a Parking Lot

Parking Lots

Controls whether a user is allowed to place a call directly into a parking lot.

Affects

  • The ability to perform a drag and drop call origination, to a Parking Lot Widget.

Call a Conference Room

Conference Rooms

Controls whether a user is allowed to place a call directly into a predefined conference room.

Does not affect invites from dynamically created conference rooms.

Affects

  • The visibility of the conference room, in the Destination list of the Call action dialog.
  • The ability to perform a drag and drop call origination, to a Conference Room Widget.

Call a Queue

Queues

Controls whether a user is allowed to place a call directly into a queue.

Affects

  • The visibility of the queue in the Destination list, in the Call action dialog.
  • The ability to perform a drag and drop call origination, to the call section in a Queue Widget.

Call a Cell Phone

Users, User Groups

Controls whether a user is allowed to place a call directly to another user's external numbers.

Affects

  • The visibility of the user's external numbers, in the Destination list of the Call action dialog.
  • The ability to perform a drag and drop call origination, to a user's alternative number in the Users Widget.
  • The ability to perform a drag and drop call origination, to a user's alternative number in the My Stream Widget.
