Call Operation Permissions

The following is a list of the call operation permissions. These permission specify what actions a user can perform on an extension's calls.

Transfer permissions can be found on the Call Transfer Permissions page.


iSymphony cannot control call actions, such as hangup, hold, barge, and recording, when they are performed via the phone itself.


When performing actions on calls, in the Users Widget, the Extension that will be checked for permission depends on the currently selected extension account in the User Box. If the selection is set to the user account, the user's chosen default extension will be checked. See Users Widget for more information on account selection management.

Hangup a Call

Extensions, Users, User Groups

Controls whether a user is allowed to hang up a call on an extension through the interface.

Affects

  • The visibility of the Hangup action button. If the user does not have permission to hangup calls, on any of their extensions, the Hangup action button will be hidden.
  • The visibility of the extension's calls, in the Hangup action dialog.
  • The visibility of the Hangup button on calls, in the My Stream Widget.

Place a Call on Hold

Extensions, Users, User Groups

Controls whether a user is allowed to place a call on hold on an extension through the interface.

Affects

  • The visibility of the Hold action button. If the user does not have permission to hold calls, on any of their extension, the Hold action button will be hidden.
  • The visibility of the extension's calls, in the Hold action dialog.
  • The visibility of the Hold button on calls, in the My Stream Widget.

Start or Stop Recording a Call

Extensions, Users, User Groups

Controls whether a user is allowed to begin or end recording a call through the interface.settings.

Affects

  • The visibility of the Record button on calls, in the My Stream Widget.
  • The visibility of the Record button on calls, in the Users Widget.
  • The visibility of the Record button on calls, in the Queue Widget.

Barge in on a Call

Extensions, Users, User Groups

Controls whether a user is allowed to barge into a call on an extension.

Affects

  • The visibility of the Barge button on calls, in the Users Widget.

Set Talking Status on a Barged Call to Agent-Only

Extensions, Users, User Groups

Controls whether a user is allowed to change their barge mute status to Agent-Only (whisper) after barging into a call on an extension.

Requires the Barge in on a Call permission.

Affects

  • The visibility of the Agent-Only barge option, in the barge type list, in the My Stream Widget.

Set Talking Status on a Barged Call to Unmuted

Extensions, Users, User Groups

Controls whether a user is allowed to change their barge mute status to Unmuted (broadcast) after barging into a call on an extensions.

Requires the Barge in on a Call permission.

  • The visibility of the Unmuted barge option, in the barge type list, in the My Stream Widget.
