General Permissions

The following is a list of the general user permissions. These permission pertain to actions that can be performed on users in the system, including some actions a user can perform on itself.

Email Other Users

Users

Controls whether a user is allowed to send an email to another user.

Affects

  • The visibility of the email button, in the Users Widget.

Set Status

Users

Controls whether a user is allowed to change the status of a user, to a predefined status.

Affects

  • The visibility of statuses, that were defined by an administrator, in the top right hand User Menu.
  • The ability to open the status selection dropdown, via the status icon, on user boxes in the Users Widget.

Set Custom Status

Users

Controls whether a user is allowed to define a custom status of a user.

This requires the Set Status permission to be granted as well.

Affects

  • The visibility of the Set Custom Status option, in the top right hand User Menu.
  • The visibility of the Set Custom Status option, in the status selection dropdown within the Users Widget.

Change Password

Self

Controls whether a user is allowed to change their own password.

Affects

  • The visibility of the Set Password option, in the top right hand User Menu.
