Symptoms

Application fails to launch via the JNLP installation on Mac OS X Lion 10.7 or higher when using Java 7.

Cause

Restrictions on JNLP security prevent parameters, that are needed to launch the application in a OS X environment, form being passed to the application resulting in a failure to start.

Workaround

Utilize the tarball OS X installation package for the install instead of the JNLP file. See the following article for more information. Client Installation and Uninstallation.
