Transferring a Call

To transfer a call from one location to another within the panel, you can choose one of several methods:

Using the Transfer Action Button

The Transfer action button allows you to transfer calls from your extensions to any of the following destinations:

  • Another extension
  • Another user's default extension
  • Another user's cell phone numbers
  • Any external number
  • A queue
  • A conference room

To use the transfer action, click the Transfer button in the action bar at the top of iSymphony, or use the 'T' hotkey anywhere in the panel. Select the call you want to transfer from the left side of the transfer panel that pops up, and the destination from the right side. To transfer to an arbitrary number, type the number into the filter field. The select the Transfer button to complete the transfer.

Note: If you have selected 'ASK' in your transfer type (see Transfer Type below), you may check the 'Attended' checkbox at the top of the transfer panel to perform an attended transfer. If this checkbox is not selected, a blind transfer will be performed.

Transferring via Drag and Drop

Any call that is visible in iSymphony can be dragged and dropped onto another destination to transfer the call to that destination. Calls in the following locations can be dragged:

  • My Stream widget (drag any part of the call on the right side of the widget)
  • Users widget (drag the caller id of the call)
  • Conference Room widget (drag any part of the call row)
  • Parking Lot widget (drag any part of the call row)
  • Queue Calls widget (drag any part of the call row)

Dragged calls can be dropped onto any of these locations to transfer to those:

  • My Stream widget
    • Extension Name (will transfer to that extension)
    • Cell Phone Name (will transfer to that cell phone)
  • Users widget
    • User box (will transfer to the default extension for that user
    • Extension name (hover over the user's name to expand the extension list; will transfer that extension)
    • Cell Phone name (hover over the user's name to expand the extension list; will transfer to that cell phone)
